Your data & Google Sign-In
What Origami Prep does with your Google account
Origami Prep is a Digital SAT practice platform for high school students. If you choose “Sign in with Google,” we request only the basic, non-sensitive profile scopes (email, profile, openid) to create and authenticate your Origami Prep account and attach your practice history to it.
- What we request
- Your name, email address, and basic Google profile info.
- What we do with it
- Sign you in, save your progress, and email you about your account. You can use email and password instead.
- What we never do
- We never read, send, or store your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or Contacts, never receive your Google password, and never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we receive your first name, email address, account ID, and, if you use Google sign-in, the basic profile details Google shares. Supabase securely handles authentication. Origami Prep never receives your Google password.
Study information
Origami Prep may store practice answers, scores, goals, saved questions, and study-plan activity so your progress can be shown back to you. Some progress may remain only in your browser while account sync is being completed.
How information is used
We use this information to operate your account, save progress, personalize study recommendations, protect the service, and fix problems. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
Supabase provides authentication and database infrastructure. If you choose Google sign-in, Google also processes information under its own privacy policy.
Referrals and fraud prevention
If you arrive through a referral link, we store the referral code in a cookie on your device for up to 30 days so the invitation can be credited to the friend who sent it. When a referral is created we also record technical signals used solely to detect abuse of the reward program: a one-way salted hash of your IP address, a hash of the surrounding network range, a coarse device signature derived from your browser’s user agent and language headers, your email domain, and, at subscription, the fingerprint Stripe derives from the payment card. We do not store your IP address in readable form, and these hashes cannot be reversed back to an address. We do not use canvas fingerprinting, font probing, or any covert tracking, and none of these signals are used for advertising or shared with advertisers. They are used to prevent one person from claiming rewards for referring themselves, to enforce reward eligibility under the Terms, and to investigate suspected fraud.
Your choices
You can avoid Google sign-in by using email and password. You may decline a referral by visiting the site without a referral link, and you may clear the referral cookie in your browser at any time. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account information, including referral records, through the support contact provided on the site.
